What Found Money is

Found Money matches receipts and settlement notices you give it to a list of open settlements. You file any claim yourself on the official site. The app does not submit a claim and does not sign for you.

What is stored

A SQLite file on the server holds a user id from the fm_uid cookie, the name, email, and US state if you type them, messages you paste, upload, or load from the sample set, details parsed from those messages, and match results. Reminders are stored here too.

The iPhone app does not sell a pass and does not collect a card number. Reminders are logged. No email is sent.

What this app does not do

It does not sell data, show ads, or send your mail to an outside model. It does not read your address book, photos, or device location. A claim-site link opens only if you tap it.

How long it is kept

On the Profile page, Delete account asks you to confirm, then removes your name, email, state, imported messages, matches, and reminders. The user id is removed with them. A new empty id is created the next time the app is opened. A disk snapshot may still hold a copy for up to 7 days.

Children

Found Money is not directed at children under 13.
